Maltings Art Prize 2022 Artwork Drop Off!
St Albans art students are busy working on their pieces for the Maltings Art Prize competition, the artwork deadline is the 30th of September, and the judges are poised and looking forward to seeing this year’s entries!
Teachers from participating schools are asked to drop off their students’ entries on or before this date. The artwork should be dropped off at the Management Office in the Maltings Shopping Centre, which is located through the door to the right of the library at the end of the corridor, the team will be expecting it!
The Maltings worked with schools to identify themes that can be interpreted with, and relate to, the curriculum and students were given two themes to choose from, ‘Reflections’ and ‘Animals of the World’.
Inspiration can be taken from a wide range of topics such as a favourite wild animal to animal habitats, from climate change to weather issues, and from shapes to detail and pattern. Reflections lends itself to anything from a mirrored image to a memory, or personal interests to a self-portrait.
Acceptable media are pencil, ink, watercolour, acrylic paints, oil pastel, chalk pastels which must be fixed and even ceramics!
