Reach for the Sky with the Maltings St Albans and Boultbee LDN

The Maltings Shopping Centre has always been very much involved with the Chamber of Commerce and a great supporter of its St Georges Day Lunch Event, and this year is no exception.  The 2016 fund raising auction is being held in aid of Mount Vernon, a well renowned, highly specialised cancer centre and all proceeds from the charity auction will be donated to the centre.

Boultbee LDN has owned the Maltings since 2003 and is a long term investor in the City of St Albans.  As such, it is donating a breathtaking prize for this year’s St Georges Day charity auction and offering the opportunity to bid for a once in a life-time experience; a flight in an iconic WWII Spitfire!

The Spitfire is the most famous British fighter plane of World War II, in its time the most advanced aircraft of its type and a classic piece of design.  Playing a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain for control of the UK skies, the Spitfire is regarded as an emblem of our nation’s freedom.

The successful bidder will experience the thrill and emotion of flying in one of the few remaining two-seater Spitfire TR9’s courtesy of Boultbee LDN and the Maltings Shopping Centre.

The half-day experience will begin at Boultbee Flight Academy based in the Goodwood Aerodrome, the only Spitfire training school in the world.

So, reach for the sky this St Georges Day, help raise much needed funds for a local cause and support the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
